Request to be Prequalified for Railway Signal Contractors
Metrolinx invites interested Proponents to be prequalified in order to establish a list of Prequalified Contractors to perform railway signal work, and signals related work, within Metrolinx-owned railway right-of-ways on an as-required basis, as more particularly described in the Prequalification Document as required by Metrolinx.
The objective of this Request to be Prequalified (Stage 1) is to develop a list of Prequalified Contractors, with the necessary experience, qualifications and resources to perform railway signal work, as more particularly described in the Prequalification Document. The successfully Prequalified Contractors will be eligible to bid on any subsequent railway signals Work (Stage 2), that will be performed under a Design-Bid-Build contract, as follows:
(i) Through a standard invitational procurement process where the railway signal contractor shall be the general contractor for the work; or
(ii) As an identified prequalified subcontractor which will provide quotes to a general contractor for the work and perform the work as a subcontractor to a general contractor on projects where the railway signals work forms part of the work of a larger project.
Pre-qualification Submissions will be accepted until the Closing of 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14 , 2019, via Merx Electronic Bid Submission (EBS) and will be opened by Metrolinx staff as soon as is practicable after the designated Closing.

Only those Proponents that Metrolinx has determined, in its sole discretion based on the Evaluation Criteria stated in the Prequalification Document, to be qualified will be added to the Metrolinx list of Prequalified Signal Contractors.
This Prequalification will supersede the existing Request/Contract SQ-2015-TS-003 and SQ-2016-NTA-009. Contractors currently considered prequalified under Request/Contract SQ-2015-TS-003 and SQ-2016-NTA-009 shall not be required to submit a new submission.
