Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario under the Metrolinx Act, 2006, was created to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). The organization’s mission is to champion, develop and implement an integrated transportation system for our region that enhances prosperity, sustainability and quality of life.
Metrolinx operates GO Transit, Canada’s largest inter-regional rail and bus network, which moves more than 270,000 people every weekday and 68 million passengers per year. The organization also works with local municipalities and transit agencies to plan, build and deliver rapid transit projects across the province
Metrolinx requires qualified Contractors with the necessary experience, qualifications and resources to perform state of good repair works on Metrolinx’s parking structures (Whitby, Pickering and Aurora) and pedestrian bridges (Whitby and Pickering). Some of this work may occur within the Metrolinx-owned Railway Right-of-Ways.
Metrolinx is requesting information and invites prospective Contractors to share their qualifications and delivery methods for the state of good repair program. Please provide us with insight into your company’s participation in delivering this type of program.
Mandatory Qualifications
Contractors must have achieved at least one (1) of the following safety requirements:
(a) CORTM Certified status with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA); or
(b) OHSAS 18001 Certification; or
(c) Out-of-Province CORTM Reciprocity (for bidding purposes only) through IHSA.
