Ontario Business and Customer Demographic and Psychographic Data

Metrolinx is seeking access to data on trip trends across all modes of travel for certain demographic groups (the “Data”) to improve transit planning in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The contract is to procure a vendor that can collect and present the Data for a period of two (2) year initial term and with an additional two (2) one year term extension options to be exercised at Metrolinx’s sole discretion.

The Data will be used by Metrolinx to understand evolving travel patterns in the Greater Golden Horseshoe and improve customer experience. Specifically, Metrolinx will use the data for accurately analyzing ridership recovery, predicting future trends, and successfully regaining ridership by understanding regional travel patterns, including travel made by travellers not using GO or other transit systems. The Data will be collected from previous transit customers who haven’t returned since the COVID pandemic, those who don’t or seldom used transit, and potential future customers that travel in parts of the region GO does or could serve.

Responses to the RFP will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. EST on January 20, 2023 through Electronic Bid Submission (EBS) at the Metrolinx MERX Portal.

Proponents must download the tender documents from the Metrolinx MERX Portal in order for their submission to be considered. Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all submissions at its sole discretion.
