Metrolinx is accepting Requests for Information (RFI) for Cash Collection from PRESTO Devices at TTC Locations.
Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario under the Metrolinx Act, 2006, was created to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The organization’s mission is to champion, develop and implement an integrated transportation system for our region that enhances prosperity, sustainability and quality of life.
Metrolinx presently operates GO Transit, Union Pearson Express (UPX), and PRESTO and is overseeing the Rapid Transit Implementation (RTI) and Regional Express Rail (RER) initiatives.
PRESTO is an automated fare collection system that allows customers, using a single contactless fare card, to access eleven (11) transit systems in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa areas that provide multiple modes of transit (e.g. buses, subways, trains). The PRESTO card is intended to help increase transit ridership and operational efficiency, improve the customer experience, and support the ever increasing demand for intra and inter regional transit integration through the use of a single fare medium. Metrolinx, is seeking information on, cash collection services, including secure armoured car services, transportation, processing and deposit of cash and coins collected from fare collection devices located at Toronto Transit Commission car houses / garages, streetcar stops and subway stations throughout Toronto.
In particular, Metrolinx is interested in understanding potential challenges and opportunities to providing armoured car services in a transit environment as well as pricing models that may be applicable to this type of service.

Responses to the Request for Information will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. EST on December 1st, 2016 through Electronic Bid Submission (EBS) at MERX.
Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Submissions at its sole discretion.
