Request for Information No. RFI-2016-VM-016
Metrolinx is accepting Requests for Information (RFI) for PRESTO Fare Equipment Certification Program
PRESTO, a division of Metrolinx, provides fare collection services to transit agencies throughout the GHTA and Ottawa. Multiple manufacturers of fare collection hardware and software supply equipment and related solutions to PRESTO and/or to PRESTO’s transit agency partners. These fare equipment hardware and software solutions are intended to be interoperable with PRESTO’s fare cards and back office systems. To ensure high quality interoperability, and to govern the process of approving fare equipment hardware and related solutions for use with PRESTO cards, disposable Near Field Communication Limited Usage Media cards (NFC LUMs) and the PRESTO system, PRESTO is developing a PRESTO Fare Equipment Certification Program that will define certification standards, interfaces and processes that fare equipment vendors will use to prove and certify proper interoperability with the PRESTO system.
Metrolinx is searching for vendors that can develop and manage the PRESTO Fare Equipment Certification Program.
